We are proud to announce the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s inaugural “BBQ on Beale” Community Dinner, set for Thursday, April 23, from 5–8 PM. This one-of-a-kind community dinner will transform Beale Street between 2nd & BB King into a vibrant, open-air dining room, complete with long rows of tables draped in red-and-white checkered linens and glowing overhead string lights. It will also feature LIVE MUSIC. The idea stems from our very successful “Meal on Main” event, which we hosted last October along Main Street and which drew more than 200 attendees. The celebration begins with live music and a happy hour from 5–6:30 PM, when Beale Street bars and restaurants will be featuring happy hour drink specials for all event ticket holders. This is a great way to support our local Beale Street anchors. Dinner will be served from 6:30–8 PM and will feature BBQ plates or sandwiches with pulled pork or pulled chicken, baked beans, slaw, and chips. After dinner, we encourage ticket holders to patronize the “after-party specials”inside Beale Street bars and restaurants, support those businesses, and enjoy any live music they may have that evening. Several establishments along the street will offer discounts to those with “BBQ on Beale” tickets.
